PhoneLock Privacy Policy
Applies to PhoneLock (iPhone) and PhoneLock Key (Mac). Last updated October 2026.
The short version
PhoneLock doesn't collect any data. Everything you do in the app stays on your own devices. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no ads.
Screen Time
PhoneLock uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to block the apps and websites you choose on your own iPhone. Apple only gives PhoneLock anonymous tokens for your choices, not app names. Your choices, lock times, and the count of how often you tried to open a blocked app are stored only on your iPhone and are never shared or used for advertising.
Pairing with your Mac
Your iPhone and Mac pair by scanning a QR code. The shared key is stored in each device's Keychain. Unlock codes are generated on your Mac and checked on your iPhone; nothing goes over the internet.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan PhoneLock's QR codes. No photos or video are saved or sent anywhere.
Calendar
If you allow it, PhoneLock reads your calendar to find conflicts and free time, and adds the missions you schedule as events. Your calendar never leaves your iPhone.
Photos
Photos you attach to a mission are copied into PhoneLock's private storage on your iPhone. PhoneLock only sees the photos you pick.
Alarms and notifications
If you turn on the morning alarm, PhoneLock schedules it on your iPhone. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Deleting your data
Deleting PhoneLock from your iPhone, and PhoneLock Key from your Mac, removes everything the apps stored.
